February 21, 2007 I should be packing...
...so of course, I am blogging.
To be fair though, I made a list of everything that needs to go in my suitcase while I was on the train this morning. So, in essence, I've already packed. I just haven't actually put the items in the suitcase. Details, details.
Work went by in a breeze today, but I got almost everything accomplished that I wanted to before I left on vacation. The things that remain undone were things that I was waiting for something from someone else, so it's not really my fault they didn't get done. Or something.
I suppose I should get back to the task of trying to cram too many outfits (and shoes!) into my tiny pink suitcase for my trip to Boulder. Watch the MoBlog for any updates while I'm gone - I've got a new cameraphone to try out - but otherwise, I'll see you in a week or so.

February 19, 2007 coming out on the other side
Phew! I think I am finally starting to feel like myself again. I have run the gamut of symptoms from sore throat to aches to runny nose to head congestion. Today, I can finally breathe through both nostrils without meds and sitting up doesn't require a Herculean effort. This is a fabulous thing since I have a TON of cleaning and laundry to do before I leave for Boulder on Thursday. Thank you to the 43 men we honor today for giving me the day off to recover and get some chores done while still getting paid!
And since I didn't have a chance to do the on Friday, here we go:- In the evening I like to change out of my work clothes and chill in front of the television. It's not sexy, but it works for me.
- I don't know what it is I like about you but I've given up trying to figure it out.
- So a house elf shows up in my bedroom and I totally put him/her to work since they love to clean and I hate it.
- Well, it's been ten years and maybe more since I first had a crush on a boy who didn't have a crush on me back - and so it continues...
- So I'm packing my bags for my two back-to-back trips and I can't wait!
- Many times I've gazed along the route of my BART train and wondered about the people speeding past us in their cars.
- Leaves are falling all around, It's time I was heading back to school.
I had a fab time with K and B on Thursday night - I miss hanging out with them on a regular basis! We had cheap Mexican at Chevy's and then settled in to watch "Grey's" which was awesome. It's always better to watch with an audience and that episode was no exception :)
Now, I guess I should get off my butt and get to work since I have no excuse not to get stuff done!

February 13, 2007 just another day in paradise
R and I are super dorks about our LA trip and I just love that! She sent me the check for her half of the hotel and all over the envelope and the check she wrote "L.A. Baby - Here We Come!" I'd laugh except that's what I've been thinking all day long ;) Can't wait!
I broke down and ordered a new phone. I was poking around the Verizon website and came across the phone I liked four months ago, so I decided to get it. I figured if I kept coming back to the same one, maybe it was time to bite the bullet and get it. And really, I'll just happy to have a #8 that works and a phone that sends text messages when I tell it to instead of whenever it feels like it. Of course, it couldn't just be free - they had to charge me CA sales tax for the original cost of the phone, so I paid over $20 in taxes on my "free" phone. Sigh.
I've got dinner plans with K and B on Thursday (finally!). I haven't seen B since my birthday and I haven't see K since Christmas. Life is just too busy sometimes.

February 9, 2007 way to end the week
I was back to work after being out again yesterday with no voice and MCB was out sick with a cold. But it was all good since the Big Boss was in meetings most of the day.
I got my official financial aid contract from Colorado and got a 3-line rejection email from Emory. But like Katie reminded me, it's not really a rejection when I've got two schools "fighting" over me right now :) I'm still waiting to hear from the other four schools, but I'm sitting pretty at the moment.
I've spent the evening on IM, planning my awesome, road-tastic, LA vacay with R and I am so excited! We are already totally hyper and psyched and I can't wait to go. We are going to have an awesome time!

February 8, 2007 crowded in my head
I felt like crap today, so I left work after I did the morning mail. I was going to try to tough it out, but after every person I work with said I should probably go home, I decided to take them up on their suggestion. I took some meds and fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up, it was pouring rain outside, so I guess it's good that I went home when I did. I hate the rain.
I needed to do laundry tonight in order to have pants to wear to work tomorrow. I finally felt enough better around 9:30 to put a load of clothes in. When I walked into the laundry room, the light wouldn't come on, so I ended up using the machine closest to the door. That machine sucks because it always stops after like 2 minutes and you have to reselect the cycle. I waited for it to go and it seemed to, so I left. I just went back to put the clothes in the dryer and it had stopped (apparently just after I left), so I had to restart it. And now, by the time it finishes, there won't be any time to put the clothes in the dryer because the laundry room closes at 11pm. So after all that, I still don't have any pants to wear to work tomorrow. Argh!
Is it the weekend yet?

February 5, 2007 Typing on Thomas
I've started to use my new laptop (which I have named Thomas) and am slowly trying to add files and programs to it. iTunes is being very persnickity at the moment, since it won't open from the transfered files I moved over or from a new install. I'll figure something out.
I wore my awesome, new, red Rutgers sweatshirt yesterday - it's so fab! I also did a lot of knitting yesterday. I've got three separate blankets going at the moment.
I'm actually not dreading work tomorrow - go figure! That reminds me, I need to go make my lunch.

February 4, 2007 Bruins are everywhere...
I was watching MSNBC this afternoon and a commercial for the DVD release of One Night With The King came on a few times. I hadn't heard about this movie coming out in the theatres and it seemed to be about the story of Esther, so I thought I'd check out the IMDB page. As I glanced at the page and confirmed that it is about Esther, something caught my eye.
The role of Esther was played by an actress named Tiffany Dupont.
I clicked to the actresses page and sure enough, that's the girl I went to high school with. I pulled my senior yearbook for confirmation and then did some googling to confirm my suspicions. She and I were never friends - pretty much thought she was stuck up and bitchy - but it's still really weird to see someone I "knew" as the star of a movie.
Between this and Matt and whoever else has done something fabulous, our ten-year reunion is going to be interesting!

February 2, 2007 finally!
It is finally Friday and that means my hell week is over at work! MCB is back from vacay on Monday and the big boss will be on the East Coast, so life can return to normal. I've loved having the time to hang out with my boss, even when she was totally stressed, but staffing the big boss is *so* not my idea of a good time.
I got my instructions for taking a trip out to Boulder later this month, so I'm totally psyched. Apparently they "love [me] already," so that should be a lot of fun. Plus I get to hang out with Anna, who I just love :)
:- July 21st is an awesome day because HP7 is coming out.
- Olay Quench is my favorite hand lotion.
- Mt. Fuji is a mountain in Japan. I think I did a school project about it one time in elementary school, but I don't remember anything.
- Professor Snape is totally guilty, but that just seems too easy.
- I would love to fly off to somewhere that requires a passport for a while.
- When I need a little pick me up, I reach for The Office season two DVDs and just watch until I can't help but laugh.
- When I daydream, I often dream about just chucking it all and trying something new that I would never actually have the courage to do.
I'm totally digging this shirt by the way. If I end up at Rutgers, I'm totally going to buy it. Of course, I've been told that NJers don't have a sense of humor of their rep with the rest of the country, but I've always wanted to be a rebel.
