June 26, 2005 catching up
I saw Caitlin at an open house today and it was so nice to catch up with her. We haven't seen each other for more than a hug in absolutely ages and I've missed talking with her. Now that she's done with school and I'm almost, I hope we'll be able to get together more often or at least have a few moments to chat. We've been through so much together, but I hadn't realized how much I've missed her until today.
Of course, I suck because I had to cancel on Matt - again. But next weekend, he's got first pick of my calendar (beyond what's already on there now), so hopefully I'll be able to pull it together.
I've been enjoying my iPod - importing songs from CDs and such. I still have 9 iTunes downloads left from a freebie thing I got. Any song suggestions?

June 24, 2005 Week 3 - Complete!
This week went by so quickly. This day went by so quickly. I know it's partially because we didn't have our morning meeting until like 9:45, but I looked up after doing my post-meeting activities and it was noon!
I got to do a lot of new and interesting things this week. My department is really making sure that I am exposed to new and different things, helping me get the most out of this experience. For that, I am grateful.
I got the day off on Friday, July 15th, so now I can finally buy my plane ticket! Jen and I are going to have plenty of time to hang out on Friday/Saturday before the event and perhaps even on Sunday before my flight. I'm so excited!

June 23, 2005 Suspicious allegations
I'm not one to believe gossip and I've tried to stay out of this whole Katie Holmes/Tom Cruise thing, but even though it's Fox News reporting, this article is very compelling.

June 20, 2005 subjectless
I've been slacking on updating this, I know. It's just hard because I can't talk about work, but work is all I seem to do these days. Sad, but true. I figured out that due to the number of hours a week I'm working, I will have completed my course requirements for this internship by the end of this week. Of course, I'll continue through the middle of August, but that's all icing ;)
Weekends seem to go by too quickly. Working sixty hours a week plus a two-hour commute is just sucking the life out of me. I don't know how people do this for a living. I keep telling myself, it's only eight more weeks. Last week seemed to go by fast, now that I have more to do, so hopefully this week will do the same.

June 15, 2005 seen from Metro
A woman, driving a maroon minivan, probably at a speed of 65 or greater, eating a tv dinner
She was holding the black tray in her left hand and eating a white fork in her right hand. How she was steering or keeping her vehicle under control, I have no idea.
I freely admit to eating in the car. Hell, half the time, it was the only way Anna and I got anythihng to eat as we drove across country. But I never use both hands like that. That's just dangerous.

June 13, 2005 whirlwind weekend
It's been quite a weekend. I don't really feel rested and I'm definitely not ready to go back to the grind tomorrow, but such is life.
I went to the fair on Saturday after a full day of fruitless shopping. Today I went to church and then shopping. I bought two pair of comfy-ish shoes and another new suit. There are four vote-days this week, so I needed one more. I spent the afternoon with my dad's relatives. Now it's laundry time before bed.
I had hoped to get the roadtrip pictures up this weekend, but it just didn't happen. Sigh. Hopefully, I'll work on it this week.

June 10, 2005 blogging from bed
My dad finally got the wireless network working (with some help from Chris), so I actually have a chance to blog before I go to bed. It's sad, but I now go to sleep some time between 9 and 10pm. Of course, I have to get up at 5am, so it makes sense, but I still weird about it. Especially since I don't get home until about 8pm.
The internship is going well. Tomorrow is the end of my first week and I think we are finally getting a groove going. Each day, I am given more and more work to do. My feet are sore and covered in blisters as I have no shoes, apparently, that are suitable for running around this city. Any suggestions for super comfortable footwear that still looks high fashion would be greatly appreciated.
This weekend I am looking forward to sleeping in and heading to the Fairfax Fair (or Celebrate Fairfax as they now call it). TGIAF!

June 7, 2005 "The true test of character is... how we behave when we don't know what to do." -John Holt
Today was my first day at my internship. It was everything and nothing like I expected. There was a lot of downtime, which helped me ease into the process. Most of the other interns have been there for a couple of weeks (including my department counterpart), so I'm a bit behind the curve. I was only there for 10 hours instead of the regular 12, which also helped ease me in. Tomorrow is the first 7am start day, so that will be the real test. I also have to dress up, so I'll feel like a real grown up staffer ;)
