Overall, it's been a good birthday so far. I woke up to snow showers this morning, which are scarier to me than I'd like to admit. I dressed as warmly as I could (which really isn't warm enough), breaking a new pair of pants purchased by my parents over the weekend for me. As much as I don't want to admit that I am the size that I am now, it's really nice to be able to breathe while sitting at my desk all day! And then when I got back from lunch, my coworkers surprised me with a homemade cake. They also got me a card that they all signed and encouraged me to go out and do something different (like go to a movie, etc). Very sweet! My two CDs I had ordered (Christmas by the Bay and Grey's Anatomy soundtrack, vol 3) from Amazon came today, so it's like I got a birthday present from myself! And it really was too because I was able to use the $25 gift certificate I won on Blingo to pay for it :) I also got two sweet cards in the mail as well as tons of e-cards, Facebook wall posts and messages, MySpace comments, texts and voice mails wishing me a wonderful day. While my celebration on the particular day may be low key, it's been a great birthday. I've ordered my pizza (my luxury food item), I've got a load of clothes in the washer and I've changed into yoga pants and a hoodie. Feels pretty good.
