August 14, 2008 home for now
I've posted at LJ and on Facebook, but I have neglected the blog (as usual) until now. While we did have fun, Mom and I did not have a successful trip to Los Angeles over the past week. I did not find a suitable apartment and with no job either, I will not be moving there this month. By the end of the month, most of the contents of my apartment will be in storage and the rest (plus myself) will be ensconced in my old room in Virginia.

I'm pretty heartbroken about not being able to jump back into my life in California, but I am trying to make the best of it. I have no idea what the future holds or what I'm doing with my life - so please don't ask ;)

August 3, 2008 $5 Fridays!
Okay, normally I'm not one to shill for a website/corporation on my blog, but I'm too damn excited right now! Apparently, Amazon.com (the only place I buy .mp3s anymore because of iTunes stupid encoding crap) has a new program called Friday 5, where they will offer 5 entire albums for just $5 each until Monday. And it's not just crappy albums that no one would want to buy either. I just got the new Death Cab for Cutie album for $5, saving almost $7! And since I had just won a $5 Amazon.com gift card from Blingo - it was free! Definitely a good day!

July 31, 2008 "If there is a can of whoop ass, I'm going to be the one to open it!"
When I run the world, Brian Williams and Jon Stewart will be on TV all the time, just to amuse me. Those two crack me up so much!

Since I've been too lazy/busy to finish my write up about my completely awesome trip to Korea, you haven't been made aware of the fantastic-ness of "Doctor fish." But luckily for you, CNN and CBS New York are working together today to make you aware of it.

Basically, you put your feet into a tank with these tiny fish and they eat the dead skin off. It feels completely weird at first and my first instinct both times I've done it is to rip my feet back out of the water. I mean, I don't even like seaweed to brush up against me in the ocean. But then, it becomes more like a massage as they attacked my tired, scaly feet. I'm completely addicted :)

About six weeks after I returned from Korea, I took my mom to the salon/spa featured in the articles above for a Doctor Fish pedicure for her birthday (where the photos were taken). It was a different experience than in Korea since we had individual fish baths and then a full pedicure. Of course, that jacked up the price a LOT. Doesn't seem like you can buy just the fish treatment without the other, but I think it's totally worth it.

I'm a little disappointed that I wasn't contacted for the AP article since at the time we visited, I was the first person they had met who had ever had the Doctor Fish treatment before. Of course, when they were asking me about it, I did inform them that EMH and I had gotten our Doctor Fish experience for the price of a beverage at the cafe in EMH's building (EMH had gotten a coupon from her co-worker), so this was a "tiny" bit more. So, that may have something to do with it ;)

In any case, if you have the opportunity to stop by Yvonne's off Route 1 for the Doctor Fish pedicure, it's completely awesome. I LOVE Doctor Fish!

July 17, 2008 love my guys!
This was the scene in my backyard when I got home from work today. I'm not going to miss much when I move, but I'm definitely going to miss these guys!
